MPUSD Monitoring Moss Landing Power Plant Fire

Dear MPUSD Families,

We are aware of the fire at the Moss Landing Power Plant battery energy storage facility and the precautionary shelter-in-place order issued for the area (within one third of a mile) immediately surrounding the facility.

MPUSD is actively monitoring the situation, including air quality and any potential impacts to our schools. At this time, air quality around all our schools remains good, and there are no changes to school operations.

We will continue to closely monitor conditions throughout the day in coordination with local information and guidance and will make any necessary adjustments should conditions change or new information become available.

We will keep families and staff informed of any updates that may impact our schools.
