School Leader Message
Students all enjoyed the week and are reaching goals, and are forging ahead with their school work. We love seeing students challenge themselves. Shout out to our amazing teachers who are motivating out kids to do better every day!

Events on Website: We want you to know about upcoming events here at Del Rey Woods. Last year we began putting school events on Parent Square, and NOW we are excited to announce we have them up on a calendar on the Del Rey Woods website! Check it out here! Also on the home page you can scroll down and see “upcoming events”. Tell your families!

Around Campus

Circle Times, Every Class, Every Day

Every day our classes have "Circle Time" and work on being connected and sharing about themselves. The circles foster a sense of belonging, and offer a chance for teachers to delve into social emotional supports. Also, when students spend time getting to know about each other, it fosters connection and prevents bullying and other exclusionary behaviors. We are committed to seeing our students feel connected and honored. We love our cirlce times!

Student Shout Outs: Every day students are rewarded for being safe, responsible and respectful with Dolphin Cards. We also have a Student Shout Out board at school where we honor hard work, enthusiasm, kindess and general awesomeness. It makes students feel seen for their efforts and teachers and staff love seeing their kids grow and prosper, t makes our day. So the Shout Out Board is a win win. Here are some of the winners:

At Back to School Night we raffled off free tickets. Congratulations to our Back to School Night Ticket winners! See you at the game!

Brighter Bites Needs Volunteers: We look forward to seeing our food pickups every other week with Brighter Bites! The distributions begin September 17. This year we need helpers! After School Clubs Update: We will continue after school activity and club sign ups. Some clubs are first come first serve, so please visit us Monday morning 7:30-8:00 in front of the school. Club Start Dates: “Math in Motion” for TK-1 and “Engineering Hands On” for 2-5 grade will begin the week of September 15. Soccer Clinic, Basketball, Volleyball, Martial Arts/Capoeira, Drumming and Dance need the contracts approved by the District and we will update you with start times as soon as we know! Questions? Parent Involvement Opportunities: Parent voice is an integral part of how Del Rey Woods functions. Can you help us? In September we begin monthly meetings for the Community School Advisory Committee (CSAC), School Site Council (SSC), English Language Acquisition Committee and our Cafecitos where you can meet with our school leaders to discuss school related topics. ECM Parent Meeting: On September 8 at 9:00-10:00 please join families at Central Coast High School to go over ParentSquare, CalKIDS, how to make individual appointments with their Enhanced Care Management (ECM) team, and a new resource hub they created that puts community resources all in one place for families. This new resource hub is really amazing! See attached flyer~
