Each year on August 31, communities across the globe observe International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD)—a day dedicated to raising awareness about overdose, reducing the stigma surrounding drug-related deaths, and honoring the memories of those we have lost.

The Board of Education approved the districtwide school calendars for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years.

Opportunities (ELO) afterschool programs at all TK-8 schools. Please see the links embedded in this message for access to the Registration application. Each link is unique to the school your child currently attends.

This school year, teachers and staff will get to meet you and your kindergarten student during the first two weeks of school (Wednesday, August 7 - Friday, August 16, 2024).  School will be half-day and afterschool care will be available.

Do you have a child who is 4 or 5 years old? Sign them up for transitional kindergarten or kindergarten at MPUSD today and don’t delay!

A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., at the District Services Center (DSC) Board Room, located at 540 Canyon Del Rey, Monterey, CA.

Join us for a fun, family-friendly event to kick off the 2025–2026 school year on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Seaside High School.

MPUSD is offering free dental screenings for kindergarten students at Del Rey Woods Elementary School, Marina Vista Elementary Arts Academy, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. School of the Arts, and Ord Terrace Elementary School.
